About this product :
The Yamaha DXS18XLF offers thunderous low end, superb clarity, and best-in-class SPL performance. This powered bass-reflex subwoofer boasts a high-power 1,600-watt Class D amplifier, a 30Hz–150Hz frequency range, and can tackle any application you throw at it. Sophisticated DSP processing yields high-resolution sound with super-low latency, while optimized presets and an intuitive LCD display make dialing in your settings a piece of cake. This sub employs a lightweight, yet durable, plywood cabinet with a premium-grade polyurea coating. The DXS18XLF is a must-have for completing your full-range DZR system
Custom-designed transducer
- The Yamaha DXS18XLF is loaded with a great-sounding, custom-designed transducer. Its durable die-cast aluminum frame and 4-inch voice coil deliver impressive bass response, even at cranked volumes. Experience extraordinary low-frequency linearity, thanks to the DXS18XLF’s dual damper, which mitigates unwanted vibration during high-output situations.
Powerful DSP for flexible control
- The DXS XLF subwoofers are also driven by 96kHz high power DSP processors and utilize the dynamic EQ. Onboard D-XSUB LF processing gives you complete control and management of your lower frequencies with NORMAL mode set for the perfectly balanced low-frequency response, while BOOST mode provides a tighter and more focused bass with some extra punch. XTENDED LF mode drops the low-end frequencies down even further for the reverberating bottom end that delivers a low-frequency extension that is an uncommon achievement for a cabinet of this size. Usually, the higher the output, the more difficult it is to manage low-frequency energy directivity, and significant stage-side sound pressure levels can seriously damage your monitoring, but with DXS XLF setups compromising two or more subwoofers, selecting the Cardioid Mode effectively brings down the sound pressure on stage while increasing the bottom-end output directed towards the audience, resulting in a much cleaner stage monitoring environment. Clearly, your DZR full-range system will scale new performance heights when used with the pronounced, powerful lows of DXS XLF active subwoofers.
Acoustics and Utility
- New Yamaha proprietary transducers with a durable die-cast aluminum frame and 4” voice coil are crucial to achieving such incredible low-frequency response, even at the highest output levels. A dual damper also helps to accomplish extraordinarily high linearity of the low frequencies by reducing unwanted vibration during extreme output levels.
Durable, Portable and road ready
- DXS XLF enclosure exteriors feature a durable Polyurea coating with supremely high damage resistance to protect the cabinet from scratches, bumps, or severe weather conditions, maintaining a professional appearance for years to come. Additionally, the new, ergonomically designed aluminum handle, optional SPW1 wheel kit, and SPCVR speaker covers render complete safety, easy portability, and peace of mind when you’re on the road.
